Sophie Watson is currently studying a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland. Having worked in administrative roles at a Brisbane medical practice, and coming from a family belonging to the Brisbane medical community, Sophie appreciates the importance of mental health support services in the lives of doctors and medical students. Additionally, with four years of experience as the volunteer treasurer of both the Brisbane Girls’ Debating Society and the University of Queensland Debating Society, Sophie has experience on the management committees of not-for-profit incorporated organisations. Prior to studying medicine, Sophie completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland, with a major in biomedical sciences, where she received first-class honours, a university medal, UQ Employability Award & UQ Future Leader award. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys playing cello with the Queensland Medical Orchestra.
