Dr Eugene Wong – Director & Helpline Panel Volunteer

Dr Eugene Wong

Dr Eugene Wong is a GP and rural generalist doctor with credentials in Anaesthesia and Retrieval Medicine and is a volunteer on the DHQ helpline panel. He is also a medical educator and leader (formerly a Director of Medical Services of rural and regional Queensland hospitals)

He has worked across Queensland including the Torres Strait (Thursday Island), Cape York communities and Northwest Queensland (with RFDS), Bundaberg, Emerald, Rockhampton, Longreach and the Darling Downs. He has been a board director of the Remote Vocational Training Scheme Ltd and has been involved in the leadership and governance of his medical colleges (ACRRM, RACGP and RACMA).

Eugene has a keen interest in healthcare culture and leadership, and doctor wellbeing (“caring for those who care”); with a heart for doctors in training.
