The University of Queensland Regional Training Hubs complement the existing investment in rural training for university medical students and seeks to strengthen the pipeline to rural practice for General Practitioners and Specialists. We understand that it is important for the health of doctors to have their own GP and that availability of General Practices accepting new patients is low in some regional areas. To support our medical students and junior doctors, we have sourced GPs in the Wide Bay area that are willing to open their books for their junior medical colleagues.
If you are having difficulty finding a GP, please contact the Regional Training Hub Wide Bay.

GPs4RuralDocs is a GP service specifically for rural doctors, nurses and allied health practitioners. We work to provide Australia’s rural health workforce with the same level of care they provide their own patients. The service is delivered by a team of doctors who understand rural practice and are trained in doctor-to-doctor care and mental health.
These GP consultations can address specific health concerns or act as a simple health checkup – just as they would for any patient in a GP clinic.
